Lake Oconee is fortunate to boast eight of the finest golf courses anywhere in the world. Each has its own distinct style and offers challenges to the serious golfer, as well as enjoyment for the occasional player.

REYNOLDS PLANTATION currently offers four courses for play with an additional “members only” course to open in 2007. The Plantation Course was designed by Bob Cupp, in conjunction with Fuzzy Zoeller and Hubert Green. It opened in 1988 and was immediately recognized as one of the top ten new resort courses in the world. The course is characterized by a natural and rolling layout. The Great Waters Course offers players some of the most dramatic golf scenery in the Southeast. Nine of the eighteen holes play along the shores of Lake Oconee. This course was designed by Jack Nicklaus and opened in the fall of 1992. The National Course, designed by Tom Fazio, boasts 27 holes and features impressive elevations, wonderful views, and also has several holes on Lake Oconee. The original course opened in August of 1997 and nine additional holes were added in 2000. The Oconee Course uses the combination of stunning terrain and excellent routing to create an abundance of exciting golf. Rees Jones has created a classical masterpiece that players will enjoy and return to play again and again. Paired with the Ritz Carlton Lodge and Dave Pelz Golf School, this course has an unbeatable package available. A new 18 hole “members-only” course will open in early 2007. This course was designed by Jim Engh and promises to be an extraordinary venue

REYNOLDS LANDING was the first resort to offer golf at Lake Oconee when it opened its course in 1986. The course was taken over by Linger Longer Development (Reynolds) in 2005 and they immediately made significant improvements to the course. Designed by Bob Cupp, it has continually ranked in the top ten courses in Georgia and was the host of the 2006 Georgia Open. The course demands respect from its players and offers some breathtaking views.

HARBOR CLUB sought the expertise of Tom Weiskopf and Jay Morrish when designing their course. Opening in April 1991, the course was nominated as “Best New Private Course” for the year. Six holes play along Lake Oconee and the 18th hole offers players a choice of two fairways and two greens.

CUSCOWILLA has a highly acclaimed course designed by two-time masters champion Ben Crenshaw and architect Bill Coore. Fresh off their #1 ranked Sand Hills Golf Club in Nebraska (Golf Digest 1995), the course was competed in October 1997. The course is very challenging and emulates the land naturally over a former hybrid pine nursery. A view of Lake Oconee can be seen from 13 holes.
