Experience Grammy nominated band, Nappy Roots with us on Friday, October 5. CK’s Smokehouse will be on site from 5pm-9pm. We’ll open the doors of the Event Center at 7pm. The Josh Beck Band Duo will get the good times going at 7:00pm. American Idol Andrew Weaver will perform at 8:30pm. When Nappy Roots takes the stage, we will sing, dance, and have the time of our lives! This is a 21 and older show. The ticket does not include beer.

The Focus of this 3 hour class is to Develop Self Awareness and to be better prepared in case the need for Self-Protection occurs. Class to include Hands on Training for Unwanted Advances, Being Grabbed & or Choked and more. Be sure to wear clothing that will allow free movement such as workout apparel.

Tuesday, October 9 | Make-A-Mix: Creating Pantry Staples | Farmview Market, Madison

5:15 – 6:30 pm

Boost the dry-good magic in your pantry with Lori Smith of Double L Ranch in this October #FarmviewSchoolhouse course! Using ingredients you know and recognize, Lori will guide you through the process of creating classic dry good mixes that are staples of most family’s pantries. During class, you will taste and make a variety of mixes and take home small samples of each. You will get recipes and all the secrets Lori has learned through the years of creating shortcuts for her kitchen while feeding her family healthy foods!

In this make-a-mix class, you will make: Cream of ‘whatever’ soup, Baking mix (like bisquick), Herbed rice mix (like Rice A Roni), Bread Mix, Ranch Dressing Mix, Taco Seasoning

Class and supply fees include discussion by instructor, recipes for all listed mixes, tasting in class of many of the mixes, instructions on use, and a portion of all mixes to take home.

$25 registration + $10 for supplies (to be paid to the teacher in exact change or check only, please!) Pre-registration is required. Class size is limited. Early registration is recommended.

Monday, October 29 | Spooky Silents Halloween Show & Masquerade Ball | Plaza Arts Center, Eatonton

Come celebrate the Plaza’s 10-Year Anniversary with this special event! Travel back to the early 1900s to enjoy three ghostly silent films paired with the original historic orchestral scores. We will show these silent films on the big screen in the theater while the Peacherine Orchestra plays along just like they did for silent films 100+ years ago! Show begins at 7:30 pm.

Wednesday, October 31 | Spook-tacular Costume Parade | Madison Town Park, Madison

6 pm

Ghosts, Goblins, and Superheros of all shapes and sizes will soon be haunting Town Park. On Halloween this year costumed trick-or-treaters up to age 12 and costumed pets on leashes – along with their families – are invited to join us for a free parade in and around the park. Marchers in the parade need to gather at 4:00 – the parade will begin at 4:15! Wagons are welcome for tiny tots. Prizes will be awarded for exceptional kid (and critter) costumes.

The hair-raising sounds of the Hobohemians Band will lead the parade. Fire Trucks and Police Cars will be on site for all the kids to crawl through. The City of Madison Police and Firefighters will be grilling ghoulish grub (hallo-weiners!) for all to enjoy. Community organization will hand out treat bags will be handed out to the first kids.
