From fireworks at the Ritz, to a Country Fair in Rutledge and a Veterans Celebration in Eatonton… You are Invited!
Dating back to the American Civil War, Memorial Day is widely known as an event to honor and remember soldiers who died in service to their country. It is likely that you’ll see an abundance of flags this weekend. You may notice that some are at half mast and then those same flags may be raised to their full height at noon. The practicing of raising and slowly lowering flags to half mast is meant to honor fallen soldiers. The re-raising of that flag symbolizes the decision to carry on the fight for freedom so that those who gave their lives will not have done so in vain. Blessings to the families of those who “gave their all.” We appreciate your service and your sacrifice.
