Oconee Brewing Company is the newest (and only) brewery in Greensboro, Georgia.
The building and idea were created by father and son team, John & Nathan McGarity of McDonough. Taylor Lamm is the co-founder and master brewer of Oconee Brewing Company. OBC has created a fantastic reputation for great beer, a cool venue and an all-around fun atmosphere. OBC is located in a 6,000 square foot building that was previously a mill warehouse. Inside of the same building, OBC offers a gorgeous 3,600 square foot event space with floor to ceiling windows that overlook and open to the outdoor patio. Some other great features of the venue include exposed brick, an exposed ceiling and string lights.
But, back to the beer because I am sure if you’re reading this post you’re more interested in the beer than the venue… Two of their beers listed on their website include, Round Here Beer and Lion Lamm. Round Here Beer is a mixture of American and German malts with a sweet aroma that’s clean and crisp. Lion Lamm is an India Pale Ale is a mixture of American and English malts with a citrusy aroma that’s both earthy and spicy. To find out more about their beers go sample them at 202 North West Street, Greensboro, Georgia 30642. They are very active on social media with posts and pictures describing life at OBC. A lot of their posts/articles are fun to read, so make sure to visit them online at http://oconeebrewingco.com/ and connect with them on social media.
Kim and Lin along with Gordon (one of buyers agents) and his wife Angela went to visit OBC last weekend and had a great time! Their favorite beer was the Three One Thousand which is a Habenero Pale Ale. They enjoyed their time there and will be going back soon!
