Las Vegas Comes to Lake Oconee

Lake Oconee Area Builders Association Holds Annual Lake Vegas Charity Event

On Monday, the Lake Oconee Area Builders Association or LOABA brought Las Vegas to Lake Oconee for a seriously fun charity event. “Lake Vegas” was held at Da Corrado in the Village Park shopping center (a few doors down from us!). The Kim and Lin Logan team attended Lake Vegas to help support the Fran Faxon Foundation and Kim is now a Founding Member of the foundation. The Fran Scholarship fund was created in 2011 by LOABA to honor Fran Faxon, a previous LOABA member of over 20 years, a U.S. Navy veteran, and just a generally sincere and kind person. The scholarship is available to LOABA members, employees, and their families. With the help of members and the community, more than 50 scholarships have been awarded to deserving students since the scholarship was created. The night consisted of delicious hors d’oeuvres served by the Da Corrado staff. Everyone enjoyed playing black jack, craps, poker and roulette! At the end of the night we cashed in our tokens for raffle tickets and placed them in the bags of the donated items we wanted to win. They had some neat prizes like Kitchen Aid Mixers, a wine cooler, an apple watch, a big green egg, a flat screen TV, a yeti, and a ton of gift certificates! Kim and Lin Logan Real Estate donated a sunset flight over Lake Oconee with our very own pilot, Lin! However, we were not the only local business to donate prizes and participate in the event – Askew Appliance, BankSouth Mortgage, Dalton Carpet One, Dreambuilt, and Reynolds Lake Oconee also donated prizes.

Make sure you make it to this event next year! Everyone had such a blast!
