February 5th Celebrate Black History Month at the Morgan County African American Museum
The Morgan County African American Museum will be hosting an opening reception on February 5th from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. There will also be an artist talk with Lynn Marshall-Linnemeier and Sandra Hall Cummings. Visit http://mcaam.org/ for more details!

February 10th-11th Into the Woods Jr. at the Plaza Arts Center
The Lake Oconee Academy High School Drama Program is performing Into the Woods, a “musical fairytale about wishes and the choices we make.” You can watch the performance on two separate occasions: Feb. 10th and Feb. 11th at 7:00 PM. February 11th Fire and Ice Festival in Eatonton
Get fired up or chill out at the Fire and Ice Festival held by Eatonton Main Street. The festival will be held from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Eatonton Cotton Warehouse. Crazy stuff will be happening like people performing fire tricks and people carving ice sculptures! You will also be able to see Elsa and Anna from Frozen and get your face painted by them! This is a FREE event and will be a ton of fun for the kids! February 13th 2017 Heart & Soul Fashion Show at The Ritz Carlton, Lake Oconee
Come out and enjoy the annual Heart & Soul Fashion show and luncheon in the Grand Ballroom at the Ritz Carlton. The Mistress of Ceremonies will be Brenda Wood from 11 Alive news and guests will be able to see the new Spring collection from Sonia Says of Athens. Proceeds from this event will help support the Good Samaritan Hospital. In addition to the fashion show and lunch, a silent auction will also be held. The event starts at 11:30 AM and tickets are $125/person and can be purchased here!
February 14th Valentine’s Pop-Up Dinner at Farmview Market in Madison
Farmview Market is holding a very special 5-course dinner for Valentine’s Day♥. The dinner will last from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM and live music will be played throughout dinner as well. Some of the food being served includes roasted butternut squash, Sapelo Island clam chowder, and snapper served over lobster risotto. Dinner is $45 a person. Farmview will also be holding a separate ‘Make-and-Take Valentines Bouquet class’ that starts at 5:30 and costs $25 per couple. February 18th Denim and Diamonds at The Ritz Carlton, Lake Oconee
Don’t miss out on all the fun at the 4th annual Denim and Diamonds event held at The Ritz Carlton. Denim and Diamonds is a charity fundraiser that helps support the Lake Oconee Academy Foundation. There will be dancing, live music, a lip sync contest, and auction items. This is event has a huge turnout and is such fun for all guests who attend. The preview party for the Antiques show Thursday, February 23rd from 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM, tickets for the preview party are $50/ticket and also includes entry for Friday and Saturday. February 24th Free Film Screening at the Madison Morgan Cultural Center
On Friday, February 24th at 9:00 AM the film, Discovering Dave: Spirit Captured in Clay will be playing at the Madison Morgan Cultural Center. The film is around an hour long and afterwards there will be a Q & A session with the filmmakers – Mark Albertin and George Wingard. The film is about an 1800’s slave potter, David Drake, from Edgefield, South Carolina. February 25th Diamond Masquerade: A Mardi Gras Gala at Merchants Hall in Downtown Madison
The Steffen Thomas Museum of Art is hold a Mardi Gras themed fundraising event at Merchants Hall in Downtown Madison. The event will take place on Saturday, February 25th from 7:00 PM – 10:00 PM and attire is optional black tie. The Atlanta Seventeen Big Band will be playing live and the Washington Grass Inn will be serving a New Orleans style cuisine. All the funds raised by this event help to support the Steffen Thomas Museum of Art programming.
